Firefighters battled a fiery blaze at Royal Victoria Hospital in Folkestone after yobs reportedly set the fire on Tuesday evening.

The alarm was raised just after 8pm when smoke poured from the building on Radnor Park Road. Eight fire appliances, including a command support unit and height vehicle, were deployed swiftly to tackle the flames.

Crews Search Building as They Fight Fire

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews used a main jet and hose reels to douse the fire while carrying out thorough searches of the property. Thankfully, there are no reports of casualties so far.

Investigation Underway After Reports of Arson

The Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the Emergency Control Centre received the alert at 8.38pm. Neighbours spotted troublemakers just moments before the flames broke out, prompting a joint investigation into the cause.
