Police, paramedics, and four fire crews rushed to the scene just after 4pm. Despite their best efforts, a person was found deceased inside the burning house.

Crime Scene Set Up as Investigation Gets Underway

London Fire Brigade specialists have joined forces with Metropolitan Police to probe the cause of the blaze. A blue tarpaulin covers the front door, while CID officers and forensic teams swarm the scene.

Met Police spokesman: “At 4.09pm on Sunday, 11 December police were called to assist the London Fire Brigade at a fire in Reventlow Road, SE9. Sadly, the incident has resulted in the death of one man. Officers are working to inform his next of kin. Emergency services remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”

Both the London Fire Brigade and ambulance service have been contacted for comment as the investigation continues.
