Horrific Homophobic Attack Rocks Kennington Road
London’s Metropolitan Police are on the hunt after a brutal homophobic assault just after midnight on Kennington Road, SE1.
Victim Slashed, Treated on Scene
Police rushed to the scene at 00:01 on Friday, 28 March, following reports of a violent attack. A man in his 20s was found with a painful cut to his hand. Officers quickly gave first aid, and thankfully, his injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing — no hospital visit was needed.
Hate Crime Under Investigation
The assault is being investigated as a hate crime after homophobic slurs were reportedly shouted during the attack.
“This assault is being treated as a hate crime due to the nature of comments made during the incident. We take reports of this kind extremely seriously and are working to identify those responsible.” – Met Police Spokesperson
Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward
No suspects are in custody yet, and inquiries continue. Officers are calling for anyone with information to contact them immediately.
