Police Hunt Man Over Dawlish Car Park Arson
Devon & Cornwall Police have released images of a man they want to ID after a blaze gutted vehicles in Dawlish. The fire broke out in the Barton Surgery car park in the early hours of Friday, July 14, causing severe damage to multiple cars.
Firefighters Raise Alarm, Police Launch Probe
Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue alerted cops to the flames. Detective Constable Kirsty Ampleford, leading the investigation, said the images of the suspect may be grainy but could lead to a break in the case.
“While the pics aren’t crystal clear, we hope someone recognises this man and comes forward,” said DC Ampleford. “He may hold vital clues to the investigation.”
Local Vehicles Destroyed, Community Hit Hard
The arson smashed several vehicles belonging to Dawlish residents. The loss hit locals hard, with many relying on their cars for essential travel.

DC Ampleford called on anyone with info to contact police immediately. She said the public’s help is key to catching the culprit and solving the case.
