Quick-Thinking Cops Save Harrow Flats from Blaze
Two swift police officers sprang into action to save residents from a dangerous fire near their flats in Harrow. The drama unfolded on Saturday, 7 March at 6.30pm, when fire broke out behind commercial premises on Cranleigh Gardens.
Officers Force Entry to Rescue Residents
With homes just above and next to the blaze, the officers didn’t waste a second. They forced entry into the residential block and alerted tenants to evacuate immediately. A courageous passerby joined forces with the police to help clear the building fast.
All Evacuated, Some Treated for Smoke Inhalation
Luckily, everyone was safely evacuated. Several residents and the two officers were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service. The London Fire Brigade arrived quickly and brought the fire under control, limiting damage to the flats.
