A terrifying smash left a car flipped on its roof at Eastney Esplanade just after 12:20pm on Tuesday. Emergency crews rushed in after two vehicles collided near the busy zebra crossing by the iconic coffee cup landmark.
Heavy Rescue Effort by Firefighters and Paramedics
Paramedics from the South Central Ambulance Service, Hampshire Road Policing Unit, and Southsea Firefighters teamed up to tackle the chaos. The overturned vehicle’s two occupants suffered suspected spinal injuries and were treated on the spot before being carefully freed from the wreckage.
Road Closure Causes Delays – Avoid the Area
Police warned drivers to steer clear while recovery teams worked to remove the car and clear the scene. Both injured parties were taken to hospital for further treatment. Drivers face delays as the road remains shut during the cleanup.
