Two Held Over Fatal Hit-and-Run in Hailsham
Sussex Police have arrested two men on murder charges after a deadly hit-and-run in Hailsham late Saturday night.
Fatal Crash on Western Road
The tragedy unfolded around 11pm on Western Road, near Diplocks Walk, when a vehicle struck a 24-year-old local man. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family has been informed and is receiving specialist support from police trained in dealing with such traumatic events.
Suspects in Custody, Investigation Ongoing
The accused, a 32-year-old from Horam and a 26-year-old with no fixed address, handed themselves into police and are now in custody.
Detective Superintendent Mark Chapman said: “With two people in custody, we are tirelessly investigating to establish the full circumstances of this tragic incident. Our thoughts remain with the victim’s loved ones during this extremely difficult time.”
“We appreciate the public’s understanding amid community disruption. We urge anyone who was in the area with information, especially those who captured footage on phone, CCTV, or dash cams, to come forward.”
