Predator Titoo Tahir Busted for Sickening Abuse of Teen
Titoo Tahir, 38, from Chamberlayne Road, London, conned a teenage boy on social media by pretending to be aged 15 to 17. The chilling deception led to a terrifying ordeal.
From Chat to Crime Scene: Meeting at Strood Train Station
On 11 September 2021, Tahir met the boy at Strood Train Station. Together, they walked to a deserted warehouse where the predator sexually abused the teen. Tahir threatened to harm the boy’s family if he didn’t obey.
Not done, Tahir forced the boy to return the next day, committing further sexual offences while handing over cash and warning him to keep silent.
Police Step In After Brave Teen Speaks Out
Just days later, the victim confided in someone, prompting Kent Police to get involved on 16 September. Investigators linked the crimes to Tahir, who was already behind bars in the Metropolitan Police area for similar sexual offences.
With DNA, phone and CCTV evidence, Tahir was charged with seven sexual offences, including three counts of inciting a 13-15-year-old to sexual activity.
Justice Served: Six and a Half Years for Monster
Tahir pleaded guilty to all charges. On 18 October at Maidstone Crown Court, he was jailed for six and a half years and will serve four years on licence post-release.
Already serving a 4-year, 1-month sentence for similar crimes in Bromley, both jail terms will run concurrently. The court also slapped him with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and added him to the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
Police Praise Courageous Victim
“Tahir used social media to groom and betray the trust of a young, vulnerable boy. He forced the victim to an isolated building and threatened harm to his family. His sentence reflects his dangerous nature,” said Detective Luke Grimmett of Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
“I commend the brave young victim whose courage led to his arrest and punishment.”
Detective Chief Inspector Jo Lloyd, Metropolitan Police’s Online Child Abuse team, added: “Our joint efforts with Kent Police ensured Tahir received a lengthy custodial sentence. He targeted multiple children online, causing trauma across the board.”
“If you suspect your child is a victim of online grooming, report it immediately.”
