Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Dymchurch Stabbing

A suspect has appeared in court over a stabbing incident in Dymchurch that left a man in his 20s fighting for life.

Stabbing on High Street in the Early Hours

Just before 1am on Wednesday, 12 January 2022, police rushed to the High Street after reports of a man with stab wounds sitting in a car. The victim was quickly taken to hospital and is now stable.

Suspect Arrested and Charged

Kent Police arrested a 29-year-old local, Abdul Malik of High Street, Dymchurch, following their investigation. Authorities confirmed the two men knew each other. On Friday, 14 January, Malik was formally charged with attempted murder.

Court Appearances and Ongoing Investigation

Malik appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 15 January and has been remanded to Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, 17 January.

Detectives urge anyone who witnessed the stabbing near Orgarswick Avenue to come forward.
