Uxbridge Brutality: Man Bashed with Baseball Bat in Planned Attack
Couple Jailed Over Savage Bat Beating
James White, 22, of Morse Close, Uxbridge, has been slammed with 11 years behind bars. His accomplice, Crystal Culhane, 22, of The Brambles, Uxbridge, escaped prison but received a two-year sentence suspended for two years. Both were convicted of grievous bodily harm at the Old Bailey on 8 January.
Attack Orchestrated on Uxbridge Street
The brutal assault unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, 18 August 2019. White battered a 33-year-old man multiple times with a baseball bat on Dovedale Close, Harefield, after Culhane lured the victim there with calls and texts.
The victim was reportedly in a relationship with Culhane at the time. Shockingly, White and Culhane were on a date that night and had premeditated the attack.
Evidence Revealed in Court
- Recovered phone messages showed Culhane’s repeated lures to the victim.
- CCTV captured the victim parking and pacing near White’s home, distracted on a call with Culhane.
- While the victim was on the phone, White struck with a baseball bat, leaving him unconscious in the street.
Aftermath and Arrests
The victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition but cannot recall the attack due to the severity of his injuries.
Police arrested White the next day after executing a warrant at his home, finding bloodstained clothing matching eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage. Culhane was nabbed the same day while trying to visit the victim in hospital.
Detective Sergeant Jaspal Bains said: “This was a horrible and senseless attack which initially left the victim critically injured. White’s capacity for violence meant it was vital we caught him before he harmed anyone else. I hope this sentence provides some justice.”
“I’d like to thank the public for their help and the London Ambulance Service and Hillingdon officers for their quick response. If you see someone in trouble, call the police—your actions could save a life.”
