Man Charged After Armed Incident at Bradford Police Station

A 29-year-old man has been charged following a dramatic incident at Trafalgar House Police Station helpdesk in Bradford yesterday morning.

Armed Man Causes Alarm at Police Helpdesk

West Yorkshire Police revealed officers were called to the station on Nelson Street after a man showed up brandishing a handgun and a knife.

“This morning, officers responded to a report of a man believed to be carrying a weapon at the helpdesk in Trafalgar House Police Station, Nelson Street, Bradford,” said a police spokesperson.

Staff Forced to Retreat as Armed Officers Arrive

Helpdesk staff quickly moved to safety while armed police squads rushed to the scene. The man was eventually detained without further incident.

Police confirmed the man had discharged the gas-powered ball bearing gun inside the helpdesk.

Man Charged and Remanded in Custody

Adil Akksar, from Chapel Street, Bradford, faces charges of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of a bladed article in a public place. He remains in custody ahead of a court hearing scheduled for tomorrow at Bradford Magistrates Court.
