Fatal Crash on M25 Claims Four Lives
Police rushed to a horrific crash on the M25 near Waltham Abbey around 6.15pm on 23 August 2021. A lorry smashed into a minibus between Junctions 27 and 26, leaving multiple victims dead at the scene.
Tragic Victims Named
- Abigael Muamba, 31, from Edmonton Green
- Dexter Augustus, 60, from Waltham Forest
- Jennifer Smith, 59, from Stratford
- Lisa Gardiner, 44, from Walthamstow (died later from injuries)
Their deaths have shocked local communities across East London and Essex.
Lorry Driver Charged Over Deadly Smash
Ethan Burdett, 66, of Ipswich Haven Marina, New Cut East, Ipswich, has been charged with four counts of causing death by dangerous driving. He also faces four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Burdett is due to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 17 May.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash as a sombre reminder of road safety’s critical importance.
