Homeless Burglar Busted After Smash-and-Grab Spree Across Hull
Leslie Leach’s Violent Crime Spree
Leslie Leach, 41, identified as having no fixed address, pleaded guilty to a series of break-ins across Hull this August. His targets included homes on Hall Road, Chanterlands Avenue, Cottingham Road, Newland Avenue, Clough Road, and Ashbury Court. Desperate and reckless, Leach smashed windows and forced doors to grab electronics and valuables that weren’t his.
In one terrifying incident, a resident suffered minor injuries after Leach pushed his way inside during a raid.
Police Crack Down
Detective Sergeant Andy Bradley welcomed the hefty sentence handed down to Leach yesterday. “It’s extremely unsettling to know someone has invaded your home — even more so to come face-to-face with a burglar,” he said.
“I hope the victims feel safer now Leach has been taken off the streets. Burglary is a serious offence. Our force dedicates significant resources to tackling it, as everyone deserves to feel secure in their own home.”
Safety Tips for Residents
The police urge anyone facing a burglary in progress to dial 999 immediately for rapid officer response. If the crime has already occurred, call 101 to report it so the right teams can investigate.
