Jewellery Thief Busted in Multi-County Crime Spree
Kent Police Nab Serial Jewellery and Phone Stealer
Kent Police’s Chief Constable’s Crime Squad have cracked down on a jewellery theft that rocked Tenterden on Friday 30 October 2020. Lucretia Stanescu, 29, was arrested just days later on Monday 2 November. The Dagenham woman from Parsloes Avenue is now charged with two counts linked to the Tenterden jewellery heist.
12 More Thefts and One Attempted Theft Uncovered
But that’s not all. Stanescu faces 12 additional theft charges plus one count of attempted theft. The offences stretch across multiple towns and counties, showing a shocking crime spree across the south-east.
What Was Stolen? Phones and Jewellery Galore
- Phone stolen in Upminster, East London – 3 June
- Phone stolen in Grays, Essex – 21 September
- Phones stolen in Deal (5 Oct) and Dover (7 Oct)
- Jewellery and two phones stolen in Whitstable and Canterbury – 10 October, plus one attempted theft of a phone in Canterbury the same day
- Phone stolen in Maidstone – 14 October
- Jewellery stolen in Warwickshire – 16 October
- Two phones stolen in Rochester and Gillingham – 17 October
- Phone stolen in Dover – 19 October
Court Hearings and Collateral Arrests
Stanescu appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 4 November. She was remanded in custody and is due back at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 7 December. Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman from Dagenham, also arrested during the probe, have been bailed until Tuesday 24 November.
