Teen Charged With Attempted Murder After Kesgrave School Shooting
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder following a shocking shooting in Kesgrave.
Shooting Shakes Kesgrave School Run
Police were called just after 8.40am on Monday, September 7th, after reports a teenage boy was shot on Friends Walk as he was walking to school. The victim, also 15, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Suspect Arrested and Firearm Seized
Witnesses saw the attacker jump into a car and speed off. Less than two hours later, at 10.55am, officers arrested a teenage boy from the Woodbridge area. He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. Police also seized a vehicle and recovered a long-barrelled firearm during the arrest.
Charges and Court Appearance
The suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faces three charges:
- Attempted murder
- Possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life
- Possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of injury
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear via video link at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 9th.
