‘Dangerous Predator’ Locked Up for Rape
A 49-year-old man branded a “dangerous sexual predator” has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars for raping a woman in her 20s.
Sean Reuben Guilty at Bristol Crown Court
Sean Reuben, from Lawrence Weston, was found guilty in May of raping the victim at a Clevedon home in November 2021. Despite his denial, a Bristol Crown Court jury delivered a unanimous guilty verdict.
Police were called immediately after the attack. Reuben was arrested that same night and charged with rape.
Judge Hands Down Heavy Sentence
At sentencing on Wednesday 13 August, the court heard a victim impact statement detailing the devastating effect of the assault.
Judge Burgess sentenced Reuben to 10 years in prison and ordered he be added to the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely.
Police Praise Victim’s Bravery
“Sean Reuben is a dangerous sexual predator who targeted a vulnerable woman and subjected her to a horrific ordeal. Her courage in reporting this crime and giving evidence has helped secure this conviction and ensure he is no longer a threat to the public,” police said.
