Teen Arrested After Armed Raid at Andover Road Home
A terrifying break-in unfolded at a house on Andover Road around 5.15pm last Sunday (09/01).
A gang of five or six thugs stormed the property’s back door, shouting threats at one of the residents. They forced their way inside, smashing an interior door before making a quick getaway via Fleming Close towards the Recreation Ground.
Weapons Carried During The Incident
Thankfully, no one was hurt. But police say some of the intruders were armed with a knife and a metal bar, raising fears for local safety.
Police quickly arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of aggravated burglary. He has since been interviewed and released on conditional bail.
Police Hunt Others Involved
Detective Constable Myles Scott, Salisbury CID, said: “This was a very frightening incident for those involved. We’ve been conducting house-to-house enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage.”
“Our initial assessment suggests this was not a random attack, but likely involved people known to the occupants.
“We’ve made one arrest but expect more as the investigation continues. Anyone involved should come forward now.”
“We also urge locals with any suspicious sightings or footage from CCTV, video doorbells or dash cams to contact us.”
