Teen Tragically Stabbed to Death in Stourbridge
Joseph Riches, 16, from Birmingham, has died following a stabbing incident on Coventry Street, Stourbridge. He was rushed to hospital in Rowley Regis but sadly succumbed to his injuries over the weekend.
Heartbroken Mum’s Emotional Plea
Joseph’s mother paid a tearful tribute to her son, saying, “Joe wanted nothing more than to grow up and be a dad. He will never get the chance to do that now, and for a mum, that is truly devastating. Joe loved going to the gym and was just a happy and loving son.”
She urged the public to help police uncover the truth, appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Four Charged with Joseph’s Murder
Following an intense investigation, four suspects have been charged with Joseph’s murder. They appeared today at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court. The accused include 19-year-olds Dray Simmonds and Joshua Edgington, plus two 16-year-olds whose names are protected by law.
Dray Simmonds and one of the teenagers also face charges for possessing an offensive weapon.
Police Ramp Up Search for Answers
Detective Inspector Laura Harrison of West Midlands Police’s homicide unit said, “Our thoughts remain with the family of Joe, who are devastated by the loss of their child. Our investigation is ongoing, and we’re urging anyone who can help to come forward.”
