Horror in Middlesbrough: Woman Brutally Attacked in Drug-Fuelled Rampage
From Guest to Monster: Hammer, Knife and Mayhem
Lewis Adams, 33, of Great Broughton, turned a casual visit into a nightmare last July. High on drugs, he barged into a woman’s home with friends and refused to leave when asked.
Then came the terror. Adams smashed walls with a hammer and slashed sofas with a knife in a violent frenzy. The nightmare escalated when he viciously attacked the woman—punching, kicking, and strangling her. In a sickening twist, he doused her with paint and ammonia.
House Wrecked, Woman Hospitalised with Life-Threatening Injuries
Adams’ rampage left every room in ruins. The victim was rushed to hospital, fighting for life with a brain bleed, broken nose, ribs, clavicle, sternum, plus internal lung injuries and painful blistering.
An anonymous passerby called 999 after witnessing Adams dragging the injured woman from an upstairs window while wielding a knife—a terrifying scene that sparked the police response.
Shocking Police Encounter: Officer Injured in Custody Struggle
When officers arrived, Adams lashed out, kicking a door into an officer and trying to lock himself inside. The violence continued in custody, where he bit an officer, hospitalising him.
After a five-day trial, Adams was found guilty of grievous bodily harm, intentional strangulation, and pleaded guilty to assaulting emergency workers.
Justice Served: Adams Jailed for 13 Years
On Tuesday, 3rd February, Adams was sentenced to 13 years – 10 behind bars plus three on extended licence. A hard-hitting sentence for a brutal attack that left a woman fighting for her life.
