Man Stabbed Dylan Over 23 Times in Brutal Motorbike Dispute

Fatal Stabbing Shocks Skelmersdale

Felipe Diglio Figueiredo, 28, from Birleywood, Skelmersdale, appeared at Preston Crown Court accused of fatally stabbing Dylan more than 23 times. The court heard how the savage attack took place on the evening of 29th June 2023.

Police Respond to Disturbing Scene

Officers were called to Digmoor Road shortly after 9pm following reports of a stabbing. Emergency services arrived to find Dylan suffering multiple stab wounds. Despite their best efforts, Dylan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Murder Inquiry Uncovers Motive

Detectives launched a murder investigation which revealed Figueiredo confronted Dylan and another man over a dispute involving a stolen motorbike. CCTV footage showed Figueiredo leaving his home after receiving a text claiming the bike, stolen from his property the night before, had been spotted nearby on the Birleywood estate.

Brutal Attack Leaves Dylan Dead

Dylan suffered a minimum of 23 sharp-force injuries across his head, neck, chest, back, abdomen, and arms in the relentless assault.

Figueiredo Hands Himself In

Just 30 minutes later, Figueiredo returned home and called police at 9:30pm to surrender. Armed officers arrived promptly to arrest him.

Self-Defence Claim Rejected

Figueiredo later claimed he stabbed Dylan “a few times” in self-defence. But the jury dismissed this after hearing about the extent of Dylan’s injuries and reviewing evidence that contradicted Figueiredo’s account of events.

Sentencing is set for Friday, 26th January 2024, at Preston Crown Court. We will update with the outcome.
