Teen Nabbed in Essex Over NW5 Blaze Mayhem

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a string of suspicious fires that terrorised NW5 last May. Police caught him on Wednesday, 28 January, in Harlow, Essex. He faces suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson. The youth was taken to an Essex police station before being released under investigation, with inquiries ongoing.

Trio Already Locked Up Over NW5-N7 Fire Rampage

In an earlier crackdown, three men were charged for a series of fires across NW5 and nearby N7 in May 2025:

  • Roman Lavrynovych, 21, from Sydenham – charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life.
  • Stanislav Carpiuc, 26, Romford – charged with conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life.
  • Petro Pochynok, 34, North 1 – also charged with conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life.

All three are in custody and due to stand trial at the Old Bailey on 27 April.

Counter Terror Police Lead Intense Investigation

The probe is being led by Counter Terrorism Policing London, highlighting the serious nature of the case. The fires are linked to a high-profile public figure — adding fuel to the fire.

Police are urging anyone with details to call 101 quoting CAD 441/12MAY/2025.

Enquiries continue as detectives dig deep to uncover the truth behind the blaze rampage.
