Man’s Body Found in Hinckley Park Sparks Police Death Probe

Police launched an investigation after a man’s body was discovered at Wykin Park, a popular spot in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

Grim Discovery at Wykin Park

Emergency services were called to Wykin Park just after 8.30am on Saturday, 30 August, following reports of a body found in a wooded area.

An eyewitness said,

“It doesn’t look good at all. We only went for a park trip and saw all of that.”

Officers swiftly cordoned off part of the park. Forensic teams and a green tent were spotted at the scene.

Police Say Death Not Suspicious

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said:

“Just after 8.30am today police were called to Wykin Park in Hinckley following a report that the body of a man had been found. Officers attended and a scene preservation is in place. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The man’s identity remains unconfirmed. Formal identification and an inquest are expected later.

Wykin Park Remains Open, Cordon in Place

Wykin Park, managed by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, is open 24/7. Police have yet to say when the cordon will be removed.
