£1.5 Million Ketamine Haul Brings Long Jail Term
Uzair Hamid, 30, of Huddersfield, raked in huge profits selling ketamine worth an eye-watering £511,000 to £1.46 million. The dealer was slapped with a hefty 7½-year sentence at Leeds Crown Court for supplying ketamine and cannabis, plus conspiring to supply cocaine and handling Class B drugs.
Cocaine Dealer Locked Up for Three Years
Kai Helliwell, 25, from Elland, also faced the music. He received three years at Leeds Crown Court for possession and conspiracy to supply cocaine. Authorities valued the seized cocaine between £5,396 and £9,516.
Police Celebrate Major Win Against Drug Crime
“These convictions mark a big win for law enforcement,” said detectives from the Precision organised crime unit. “Drugs like these fuel addiction and serious crime right across the region.”
Both men admitted multiple offences connected to drug dealing throughout 2025. Their sentences were handed down on Thursday 15 January, marking a major crackdown on dangerous dealers operating in West Yorkshire.
