Husband Confesses to Brutal Meat Cleaver Murder of Wife

Muhammad Javed, 59, from Ilford, has been convicted at the Old Bailey for the savage murder of his wife, Saeeda Hussain, 54. After an intense ten-day trial, the chilling details emerged: on 13 February 2018, Javed attacked Saeeda with a meat cleaver before walking into a police station to confess.

Controlling Husband Spied on Wife with CCTV

The couple had been married 18 years, but Javed’s dark side included a jealous, controlling streak. Family revealed he installed CCTV cameras around the home to monitor Saeeda, suspecting her of cheating. His temper was volatile, sparking fear among those close to them as his anger escalated.

Family Feared for Their Lives as Abuse Went Unreported

Relatives told police Javed had abused Saeeda repeatedly over the years, but none had contacted the authorities. In the final weeks, his aggression intensified, putting the entire household on edge. After the attack, Javed shockingly phoned family members to admit what he’d done before heading to Ilford police station.

Gruesome Crime Scene and Haunting Police Words

Officers rushed to the home and forced entry to find Saeeda lifeless on the floor, with horrific wounds to her head and arms. A bloody meat cleaver and hammer lay nearby, alongside a blood-soaked boiler suit Javed wore during the attack. Paramedics pronounced Saeeda dead at the scene. The post-mortem confirmed multiple savage injuries from a prolonged assault.

Detective Inspector John Marriott said: “The only person who ever thought Saeeda was cheating was Javed, and this was the product of his own warped mind. He planned the attack when he knew his family would be away and probably wore the boiler suit to avoid getting blood on his clothes.

“Javed was controlling and violent, escalating to the brutal murder of his wife. This case shows why anyone experiencing or aware of abuse must contact the police immediately.”

Javed is set to be sentenced on Tuesday, 21 June.
