A two-year-old boy tragically died following a collision in Whitstable’s busy Gorrell Tank car park. A man arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail as investigations continue.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Sunday, 17 August, after reports of a collision involving the child. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, the toddler was pronounced dead at the site.

The popular car park, often packed with tourists and locals, was sealed off for hours while crash investigators combed the area.

Kent Police Speak Out

Kent Police confirmed the arrest and subsequent release on bail. A spokesperson said:

“We were called to Gorrell Tank car park in Whitstable on Sunday following a collision in which a two-year-old child sadly died. A man was arrested as part of our enquiries and has now been released on bail. Investigations remain ongoing.”
