Man Arrested After Lewisham Stabbing Leaves Victim Fighting for Life
A man is in custody after a brutal stabbing on Lewisham Way early Saturday morning. Police arrested him on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) following the violent assault.
Victim Rushed to Hospital with Life-Threatening Injuries
Emergency services were called to the scene just after 4:30am on June 22. Minutes later, a man in his 20s showed up at a South London hospital, bleeding from stab wounds. Police say his injuries are currently being treated as life-threatening.
Massive Crime Scene Sealed Off
Officers have cordoned off a large area covering Lewisham Way, New Cross Road, Amersham Road, Shardeloes Road, and Parkfield Road as they continue to investigate. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the stabbing and subsequent arrest.
“Police and LAS were called at 0434hrs on Saturday, 22 June, to a stabbing in Lewisham Way, SE14. Shortly after, a man in his 20s arrived at a south London hospital with stab injuries. These injuries are being treated as life-threatening,” a Met spokesperson said.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
