Early Morning Alarm Shuts Down Brighton Station
Chaos hit Brighton railway station at 3.49am on Sunday, May 16, when a man claimed to be carrying an explosive device outside the busy transport hub. Police were scrambled immediately, sparking panic and a swift lockdown.
Man Detained, No Bomb Found
Officers quickly detained the suspect on the scene. The station was closed to the public and a safety cordon was set up while police scoured the area. Thankfully, no explosive device was discovered during the thorough search.
Knives Recovered, Charged with Bladed Article Offences
Instead of a bomb, police found two knives. Corey Moss, 27, who has no fixed address, now faces two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place. He was remanded in custody and is due in Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 17.
