Man Charged After Crash Injures Three Women in Kent
Kent Police have charged a man following a serious collision in Garlinge that saw three women rushed to hospital. The smash happened at the busy junction of Garlinge High Street and Shottendane Road on Friday, May 24, 2024.
Crash Details and Victims
Three women needed urgent hospital treatment after the crash. A passenger in the same car was also taken to a local hospital for medical care.
The 23-year-old man believed to have been behind the wheel of the Vauxhall Astra was arrested at the scene. He too was checked out in hospital but remains in custody.
Serious Charges Laid
Joshua Clelford, who lives in Margate on Argyle Avenue, faces several serious charges:
- Causing Serious Injury by Dangerous Driving
- Using a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance
- Driving While Otherwise in Accordance with a Licence
Next Steps in Court
Clelford appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on May 27, 2024, where he was remanded in custody. His next hearing is scheduled for June 24, 2024, at Canterbury Crown Court.
