Man Charged After Woman Stabbed Multiple Times in Whiteley Office
A woman was rushed to hospital after being viciously stabbed multiple times at an office in Parkway, Whiteley. Emergency services were called just after 9:15am on Wednesday, April 30, following reports of a serious stabbing.
The victim, a woman in her 40s, suffered wounds to her abdomen, chest, back, and arm. She is currently in a stable condition, police confirmed.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Police have charged 37-year-old Anwar Ashraf, who has no fixed address but previously lived in Southsea, with attempted murder over the attack. Ashraf has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 2.
Police Investigation Ongoing
Officers have not revealed the motive behind the stabbing but say their investigation is ongoing. Following the shocking assault at the Solent Centre, police have increased patrols in Whiteley to reassure residents.
