16-Year-Old Boy Killed in Shocking Sheffield Pavement Crash
A tragic hit-and-run on a Sheffield pavement has left 16-year-old Abdullah Yaser Abdullah Taleb dead. The teen was struck by a speeding Audi driven by 21-year-old Zulkernain Ahmed on June 4 last year, Sheffield Crown Court heard.
Horror Crash Caught on Camera
Jurors were shown chilling footage of the Audi swerving onto the wrong side of the road. The car first knocked e-bike rider La’rome Divers off his bike and sent him crashing over a hedge. Seconds later, it slammed into Abdullah, who was simply walking and tossing a water bottle in hand. The impact threw the boy high into the air, leaving bystanders stunned.
Brothers Named in Deadly Incident
- Zulkernain Ahmed, of Locke Drive, Darnall, was found guilty of murder.
- His brother Armaan Ahmed, 27, a passenger in the back seat, was cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter.
- Another brother, Zain Ahmed, who was in the front seat, remains missing and wanted by police.
Additional Charges and Sentencing Date Set
Zulkernain Ahmed also faces charges for causing grievous bodily harm with intent to La’rome Divers and attempting the same against two other riders who have not been identified.
Armaan Ahmed was convicted of grievous bodily harm to Mr Divers. Both brothers await sentencing on June 4.
