Aldershot Thief Jailed for Stealing Over £550 Worth of Goods
Ryan Gibbs, 39, with no fixed address, has been locked up for 14 weeks after admitting to thefts from multiple Aldershot stores. The crook pinched paint, shoes, and fragrance bottles, racking up a haul valued at £579.
The Crime Spree and Court Appearance
- The thefts took place between 2 and 9 September.
- Stores targeted included The Range, New Look, and Boots.
- Gibbs pleaded guilty to four counts of shop theft at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on 17 September.
- He also admitted to two counts of possessing Class A drugs.
Police Hit Back: No Tolerance for Theft and Drugs
Police Sergeant Rob Tiller of Aldershot Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Ryan Gibbs stole more than £550 worth of items from shops in Aldershot. His actions have had a huge impact on businesses in our area, and I hope this result makes it clear that this behaviour will not be tolerated.”
Sergeant Tiller added that Gibbs’ sentencing is a strong warning to anyone dabbling in crime. The police remain determined to stamp out theft and drug offences in Aldershot.
