A terrifying robbery in Hailsham has landed Joshua McKenzie, 41, behind bars for nine years. McKenzie, from Orchard Grove, Penge, was part of a gang of four who stormed an 80-year-old man’s home on Ersham Road last October.

Forensic Evidence Seals McKenzie’s Fate
Police found McKenzie’s DNA at the scene, proving his guilt despite his attempts to shift blame. A search of his home uncovered weapons, face masks, balaclavas, and stolen banknotes, linking him further to the crime.
Police Praise Swift Justice and Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Investigator Laura Rolph said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim who was threatened in his own home. McKenzie tried to concoct a story about being assaulted, but evidence linked him unmistakably to the robbery.
“He refused to name his accomplices, but we are determined to catch all responsible. We are glad McKenzie has been taken off the streets.”
