Mohammad Bashir Faces Terror Charges After Manchester Arrest
Mohammad Asim Bashir, 31, from Cheetham Hill, was arrested at Manchester Airport on November 27. Though initially linked to the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue attack on October 2, he faces no charges directly tied to that incident.
Serious Terror Offences Hit Bashir
- Preparation for acts of terrorism (Section 5, Terrorism Act 2006)
- Dissemination of terrorist publications (Section 2, Terrorism Act 2006) – three counts
Bashir, who identifies as British Pakistani, remains in custody. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Friday, December 5, 2025.

Though released without charge over the synagogue attack, the investigation is ongoing. Police continue probing this shocking terror scare at a place of worship, hunting for further suspects and answers.
