Man Charged with Rape After Early Morning Attack in Andover

23-Year-Old Held Over Alleged South Street Rape

Daniel Wardrop, 23, from Launcelot Close, Andover, has been charged with rape and sexual assault by penetration. The charges follow a report from a woman in her 20s, who claims she was raped at around 4am on Monday, 10 April, on South Street.

Remanded in Custody Ahead of Crown Court Hearing

Wardrop appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on 12 April, where he was remanded in custody. He is due to face Winchester Crown Court on 10 May for his next hearing.
