Four Young Men Stabbed to Death Across London Over New Year’s Eve

London was rocked by four unrelated fatal stabbings over New Year’s Eve and into New Year’s Day, leaving four young men dead and a fifth fighting for life in hospital.

Triple Murder on New Year’s Eve

  • At 11:30am on 31 December, an 18-year-old was stabbed in Enfield’s Larmans Road and died later that evening in hospital.
  • Just before 7:40pm, a 20-year-old was fatally stabbed in West Ham’s Memorial Avenue.
  • At 10:40pm, a 17-year-old was killed in Norwood Road, Tulse Hill.

New Year’s Day Horror in Old Street

In the early hours of 1 January, a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in Bartholomew Court, Old Street. Another man in his 20s from the same attack is in critical condition at hospital.

Multiple Investigations Underway

Police have launched four separate murder probes. Five men have been arrested in connection with the Enfield killing, but no arrests have yet been made in the other three cases.

“There were thousands of officers on duty across London… determined to keep the public safe,” said Commander Neil Jerome from the Met’s Territorial Policing Command. “But small groups chose to engage in disorder and violence, with utterly tragic consequences.”

He added: “Four families are now grieving at the start of 2018 due to senseless knife crime.”

Police Urge Public to Speak Up

Detectives are pleading for anyone with information about these attacks or anyone carrying knives to come forward. Your tip could save lives.
