Tragic crash on Hendon Way claims young woman’s life after police chase ends in horror
Maria Carolina Do Nascimento Migel dies in early-morning smash
A 22-year-old woman, Maria Carolina Do Nascimento Migel, tragically died after the car she was in collided with another vehicle on Hendon Way, NW4 near Brent Cross Flyover. The deadly crash happened around 3.45am.
Police spot suspect car but no chase follows
Officers on patrol in a marked car tried to stop a vehicle near Hendon Way, NW2. The driver ignored the signal and sped off. Police did not pursue.
Moments later, the same car was involved in a collision with another vehicle. The passengers in the fleeing car ran from the scene.
Paramedics rush to scene but young woman dies
The London Ambulance Service arrived quickly, but despite their best efforts, Maria was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been informed.
The other car’s driver suffered a head injury but is said to be in a stable condition.
Four men arrested, all bailed pending inquiries
- Two 29-year-olds and a 21-year-old were arrested on December 25 on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop.
- A 32-year-old man was arrested on December 27 on similar charges.
All suspects have been bailed as investigations continue.
