Tragic Late-Night Crash Claims Young Woman’s Life on Brent Cross Flyover
A 22-year-old woman, Maria Carolina Do Nascimento Migel, has died following a devastating collision on Hendon Way, NW4, near the Brent Cross Flyover in London.
High-Speed Police Chase Ends in Fatal Smash
The crash happened just after 3.45am when officers patrolling in a marked car signalled for a vehicle to stop in the NW2 area. Instead of complying, the driver sped off, evading police – but no pursuit was launched. Moments later, that same car was involved in a serious collision with another vehicle on Hendon Way.
Three Flee Scene, One Injured
The occupants of the car that ignored police fled on foot immediately after the crash. Paramedics from London Ambulance Service arrived quickly, but despite their best efforts, Maria was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other car suffered a head injury but is in stable condition.
Multiple Arrests as Police Investigate
- Three men aged 21 and 29 were arrested on Christmas Day on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene.
- A 32-year-old man was also arrested two days later on the same charges.
All suspects have been released on bail pending further inquiries. The Metropolitan Police have launched a full investigation, with referrals made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct and the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards.
