Police Plead for Victim of Shocking Drink Can Attack to Come Forward
Police have launched a desperate appeal for the victim of a brutal assault caught on camera outside Nottingham’s Council House in Old Market Square. The sickening video shows a person sitting on the ground while someone off-screen urges another to launch an attack.
Ferocious Blow Caught on Social Media
The victim is then violently struck on the head with a drink can. The exact date of the incident remains unclear. Nottinghamshire Police have called the assault “disgusting” and want the injured party to come forward immediately.
A 20-year-old man was arrested but has since been released on bail as investigations continue.
Chief Inspector Urges Victim to Speak Out
“This was a sickening unprovoked attack. For it to have been filmed and posted on social media is truly disgusting and we are working hard to find out what happened,” said Chief Inspector Amy English.
“If you are the person who was assaulted in the video or know them, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We want to make sure that you are safe and well and find those responsible for this attack.
“We do not tolerate violence on our streets. It is totally unacceptable that someone would do this and we are treating this incident very seriously.”
