Katie Price Skirts Jail After Breaking Restraining Order
Katie Price has dodged jail time despite breaking a restraining order linked to her ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s fiancée, Michelle Penticost.
Reality Star Pleads Guilty to Abuse Text
The 44-year-old former glamour model admitted sending an abusive text to Ms Penticost. She faced sentencing last Friday at Lewes Crown Court.
Price was banned from contacting Penticost under a five-year restraining order imposed in June 2019 at Horsham Magistrates’ Court. The ban covered both direct and indirect contact.
Angry Message Sparks Court Drama
- Prosecutors revealed Price sent a message to Hayler mocking Penticost with vile insults including “gutter s***” and “c*****g w****.”
- This came after Penticost posted on Instagram about being treated badly, which she said had nothing to do with Price.
- Breaching such a protection order can land offenders up to five years in prison.
Victim Speaks Out as Price Claims ‘Misunderstanding’
“The impact of what Katie has done is very upsetting, I feel threatened and intimidated,” Penticost told the court in a victim impact statement, describing the breach as having a “devastating effect” on her mental health.
Price’s lawyer, Nicholas Hamblin, said there was a “misunderstanding” around the restraining order’s conditions. He argued Price “overreacted” due to “provocation” and feeling criticised.
The judge issued a grim warning before sentencing: “You are in very serious danger of going to prison. I really hope I don’t see you here again.”
