Repeat Dagenham shoplifter slapped with tough Criminal Behaviour Order

Prolific Thief Banned from Local Shops

Saad Ashor, 39, has been hit with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) after a string of shoplifting sprees in Dagenham. The repeat offender was arrested in December 2024 and quickly identified by the community as one of the area’s main troublemakers.

The Metropolitan Police secured the CBO at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on 24 January 2025. The order bans Ashor from entering parts of Dagenham for the next three years, aimed at stopping his theft rampage in its tracks.

Fines and Compensation Added to Sentence

Alongside the CBO, Ashor was fined £80 and ordered to pay £140 in compensation to the businesses he targeted. Authorities hope these penalties will send a clear message.

Police Urge Community to Stay Vigilant

The police are calling on local shopkeepers and residents to report any shoplifting incidents. They say public vigilance is crucial to tackling persistent offenders like Ashor and safeguarding businesses across Dagenham.
