Deceptive Abuser Jailed After Stabbing Himself to Frame Ex
A conniving domestic abuser who stabbed himself in the chest in a twisted plot to pin the blame on his ex has been locked up for three years.
Wayne Slough, 33, deliberately sparked a verbal row at his former partner’s Longfield home and secretly recorded the argument on his phone.
Slough tried to fool Kent Police by claiming the recording proved she attacked him. But police smashed his story using his own evidence against him.
Self-Stabbed in Shocking Setup
On the morning of June 17, 2017, Slough rocked up for a pre-arranged meeting at the victim’s house. He engineered a heated row and recorded the whole thing hidden in his pocket.
The recording ends with Slough walking back to his car, casually saying “here she comes” before dropping some expletives. It’s believed he stabbed himself moments later, then drove off.
Nearly an hour later, Slough called Kent Police from Darent Valley Hospital where he was being treated for the wound, blaming his ex for the attack.
Faked Assault Falls Apart
When officers reviewed the tape, they heard nothing to back Slough’s claim of being punched or attacked. There was no sign of a struggle or the woman approaching his car.
A witness who saw the incident confirmed the argument but stated the woman never got physical and certainly wasn’t carrying a knife.
Neither was the victim’s DNA found on the blade, and it didn’t match any knives at her home. The weapon was traced back to Slough’s own kitchen.
Justice Served for Victim
Slough was found guilty of perverting the course of justice after previously denying the charge. An initial suspended sentence was overturned, and he was sentenced to three years behind bars on January 19.
“Slough has shown himself to be an exceptionally deceptive liar trying to control the victim,” said Detective Constable Kathryn Lumsden-Earle. “Domestic abuse is abhorrent and we will never tolerate it. I’m glad Slough is finally in prison – it’s the only acceptable outcome. I hope this brings justice to the victim.”
