A twisted abuser who stabbed himself to frame his ex-partner has been slammed with a three-year jail sentence.
Chilling Self-Stab Plot to Frame Ex
Wayne Slough, 33, from Rochester, deliberately sparked a row at his former partner’s Longfield home, secretly recording the fallout on his phone. He then stabbed himself in the chest, claiming his ex had attacked him.
But detectives saw through the sick stunt. The very recording Slough used as “proof” actually busted his story wide open.
Fake Evidence Falls Flat
On June 17, 2017, Slough arranged to meet his ex, stirring a verbal fight while recording secretly. After the argument, he was heard calmly saying “here she comes” before swearing – a moment when he likely stabbed himself.
He then drove to Darent Valley Hospital and told police his ex assaulted him. Yet the tape showed no struggle, no attack, and no approach by the woman.
Witnesses confirmed the victim didn’t get near Slough or assault him. Crucially, her DNA was nowhere on the knife. The weapon wasn’t from her kitchen but matched Slough’s own knife set at his home.
Deceptive Liar Busted and Jailed
Slough denied trying to pervert justice, but a court trial nailed him.
Initially giving him a suspended sentence in 2021, the Court of Appeal slammed that decision on January 19 and sent him straight to prison.
Detective Constable Kathryn Lumsden-Earle said:
“Slough is an exceptionally deceptive liar, willing to go to great lengths to control his victim. Domestic abuse is utterly unacceptable, and we will never tolerate it. Justice has been done with Slough behind bars.”
She added:
“I hope the victim feels justice has been served. Anyone suffering from domestic abuse should come forward – we’re here to help and fight for you.”
