Gravesend Assault: Man Charged After Early Morning Brawl
A man has been charged following a serious assault in Gravesend in the early hours of Sunday, 6 August. Kent Police were called to New Road at 3.36am after reports of a disturbance. Officers and paramedics found a man with a cut injury. He was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.
Suspect Held and Charged Over Violent Attack
Later that day, Solomon Desbele, 25, from Fenners Marsh, Gravesend, was arrested in King Street in connection with the attack. He now faces charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm and making threats while carrying an offensive weapon in public. Desbele was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 8 August.
Two More Men Arrested, One Released
Two other men, aged 20 and 21, were also arrested on suspicion of assault on the same day. The 20-year-old was bailed until 1 November, while the 21-year-old was released without charge.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
North Kent CID is urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Drivers with dashcam footage and local residents or businesses with CCTV are asked to check their recordings for any relevant evidence.
