Swindon Man Convicted of Horrific Child Sex Crimes
A shocking case wrapped up at Salisbury Crown Court this week saw Matthew Vandross, 30, from Homington Avenue, Swindon, found guilty of multiple child rape and sexual assault charges. After a tense five-day trial, Vandross was convicted of some of the most serious offences imaginable.

- Sexual assault by touching
- Digital penetration – 21 counts
- Rape of a child under 13 – 4 counts
These vile acts took place between October 2020 and May 2021. Vandross targeted a young victim under the age of 10, subjecting her to terrifying abuse before she bravely came forward with the help of a supportive friend who had witnessed some of the horror.
Detective Praises Courage of Young Victims
“The bravery of these two children is nothing short of remarkable,” said Detective Constable Mel Neal. “Their courage played a crucial role in bringing Vandross to justice. Despite their young ages, they showed extraordinary strength through this traumatic ordeal.”
Det Con Neal also highlighted the importance of reporting abuse early, urging anyone suffering in silence to seek help.
Justice Day Looms
Matthew Vandross is set to be sentenced on November 15. The sentencing will be a critical moment of justice after a horrific and deeply distressing case rocked the community.
