Three Men Busted in £50,000 Cable Heist in Birmingham
West Midlands Police have nailed three men caught red-handed stealing a whopping £50,000 worth of communication cables right under Birmingham city centre’s nose.

At around 7.30pm on Tuesday, vigilant locals spotted the gang at work on Great Charles Queensway. They didn’t hesitate to flag down armed officers patrolling nearby, who swiftly swooped in.
Charged and Locked Up
- Marian Agarlita, 37, Sorin Condrache, 45, and Aldafin Poenaru, 48, were charged with the daring theft.
- The stolen cables were worth around £50,000, posing a serious threat of disruption in the city centre.
- A van loaded with the stolen haul was also recovered at the scene.
- The trio was remanded overnight and set to appear in city magistrates court today.
