Police swarmed seconds after a burglary alarm blared at a shop in Upchurch. The alert went off at 12.57am on Sunday, March 8, 2026, with a vigilant witness tipping off officers about the break-in on The Street.
High-Speed Getaway Ends in Crash
The suspects tried to make a run in a Range Rover but their escape ended in disaster. The vehicle smashed into a wall and several parked cars. Cops swooped in and used incapacitant spray to bring down the three men at 1.11am.
Inside the car, police found cigarettes, booze, and cash—likely stolen loot from the burglary.
Serious Charges Laid, Court Dates Set
- Lee Phillips, 48, from Camp Way, Maidstone, faces six charges, including burglary and driving offences.
- Steven Snell, 41, of Mercer Close, Aylesford, charged with two burglaries plus handling stolen goods.
- Harrison Phillips, 23, of St Welcumes Way, Harrietsham, booked for burglary, handling stolen items, and assault on an emergency worker.
The trio appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on March 9. Lee Phillips and Steven Snell were remanded in custody while Harrison Phillips was granted conditional bail. Their next hearing is scheduled for April 7 at Woolwich Crown Court.
