Son Charged with Murder of His Own Mother in Brixton

A shocking family tragedy struck Lambeth this week. Jason Phinn, 35, has been charged with murdering his mother, Christie Eugene, 64, at their Brixton home.

Distress Call Sparks Police Response

The horrific incident unfolded after police received a desperate call at 8.10am on Thursday, 2 November. Officers and the London Ambulance Service rushed to a Strathleven Road address, where they found Christie critically injured.

She was rushed to a south London hospital but tragically died at 10.05pm despite intensive medical efforts.

Son Arrested at the Scene

Jason Phinn was arrested on the spot and taken into custody. The devastated family has been informed of Christie’s death.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Phinn appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 4 November, where he was remanded in custody. He is due to stand trial at the Old Bailey on 7 November.
