Woman in Late 30s Stabbed to Death in Cork Home
A woman in her late 30s has died after being stabbed at a home in Cardinal Court, Wilton, Cork city, on Friday night. Her husband alerted emergency services just after 10pm, but despite their rapid response, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Forensic Teams Seal Off Scene as Investigation Gets Underway
The woman’s body remains at the property while the Office of the State Pathologist has been called in. A pathologist is expected to visit today, with a post-mortem scheduled at Cork University Hospital. The area is cordoned off for a technical examination.
Couple’s Young Child Safe, Man in 40s Arrested
The couple involved have a young child, who was unharmed and is now being looked after. The family is originally from outside Ireland. Meanwhile, a man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and is being held at Togher Garda Station. He is currently being questioned and can be detained for up to 24 hours under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
