Two Men Held on Double Murder and Attempted Murder Charges After Henley Road Shooting
Two More Charged in Shocking Henley Road Gun Attack
Zain Mirza, 20, from Third Avenue, Newham, and Mahad Gouled, 21, of Charles Street, Enfield, faced the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 29 November. They’re charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. Both were remanded in custody, set to return to court on 10 February 2023.
Terrifying Shooting Leaves Two Dead, One Hospitalised
The drama unfolded just after midnight on Tuesday, 25 October, when police and paramedics were called to a house on Henley Road. Armed officers found three men suffering gunshot wounds. Tragically, Saydi Abu Sheikh, 23, and Zakariya Jeilani Mohamed, 32, both from Ilford, died at the scene.
A 30-year-old man survived but remains in serious condition in hospital. Specialist officers continue to support the families of all three victims through this devastating time.
Additional Suspects Nabbed and Charged
Earlier arrests include Ayaani Ali Adan, 19, from East Street, Barking, and Ayman Abasheikh, 18, from Stratton Road, Romford. Both men were detained on 11 November and face a slew of charges:
- Two counts of murder
- One count of attempted murder
- Possession with intent to supply a Class B drug
- Possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life
- Possession of a knife in public
- Possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate
They appeared at the Old Bailey on 16 November and remain in custody awaiting their next hearing on 14 December.
