Two hardened criminals are behind bars after a high-speed stolen car chase smashed through Sandwell, ending with cops seizing a gun and Class A drugs.
Fiesta Pursuit Tears Through West Bromwich
On the morning of 5 May, West Midlands Police spotted a stolen Ford Fiesta tearing down Wood Lane, West Bromwich. The driver, 23-year-old Tammem Miah, hammered the accelerator and took off at breakneck speed.
Miah ignored red lights and roared down the wrong side of the road. Terrified drivers were forced onto pavements to dodge collisions. He even crashed into a car but miraculously no one was seriously hurt.
Gun and Class A Drugs Found After Wild Chase
The chase screeched to a halt on Arthur Road, Tipton, where Miah tried to make a break on foot. Police grabbed him outside a nearby address and discovered a loaded revolver, ammo, heroin, and crack cocaine in his bag.
A search of the property revealed more Class A drugs and paraphernalia in the room of Miah’s accomplice, 23-year-old Mohammed Ahmed.
Justice Served: Jail Time for Crime Duo
- Tammem Miah pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, dangerous and disqualified driving, and receiving stolen goods. He was jailed for nine years at Birmingham Crown Court on 10 December.
- Mohammed Ahmed admitted possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and received a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence.
This ruthless pair’s grip on West Midlands’ streets is finally smashed. Justice has landed.
